Med en gracil tyngd vilar det skalvita hönshuset i den bohuslänska arkipelagen. Det utgör en mjukt böljande skärm mot skogsbrynet och rymmer knappa dussinet hönor. Inspirationen är hämtadfrån hur hönsmamman burrar upp och breder ut sin vinge till skydd för sina kycklingar och resultatet ger ett intryck av både något som skyddar men även en känsla av fjäderlätthet. För husets form av en lyftad vinge för också tanken till de omkringsvävande sjöfåglarna. Huset är konstruerat i trä med möjlighet att lätta sköta om hönorna.
Hönshus-1 is a wooden hens house designed and built by Torsten Imottesjo situated on the west coast of Sweden. It rests on a framework of steel legs drilled into rock. The house was designed to mimic the way a mother hen spreads her wings to protect her young. It is perched on a rock slope overlooking an inlet and allows its current feathered residents a sea view. The house is programmed to mimic natural lighting conditions within the house, and therefore provide the chickens a natural daylight rythym. The hens house is the second in a series of biomorphic strucures built by Torsten. He is inspired by nature, improvisation, and simplicity.
